Picasso Stone, also known as Picasso Jasper, is a type of marble, a metamorphosed limestone rock of crystallized dolomite or calcite. 

Picasso stone’s colors include a combination of black, rusty brown, golden yellow, white, and shades of gray creating a colorful pattern of resembling an abstract landscape. These patterns are created by iron oxides and form lines and veins.

This stone’s name is because it looks like abstract brush strokes by Pablo Picasso.

It is only found in Utah, United States

Tiger’s eye is a part of the Chalcedony group, a cryptocrystalline form of silica. It’s made up of fine intergrowths of moganite and quartz.

Thousands of years ago, the tiger’s eye was carved into amulets and talismans to be worn by ancient Roman soldiers to help them remain calm and courageous, stay focused, and persevere.

In ancient Egypt, the tiger’s eye stone was believed to be the rays of the powerful sun god, embodied by the tiger.

Blonde Tiger’s eye is found in South Africa, Australia, Brazil, and the United States. 

Peridot is of the mineral olivine. Its yellow-green color comes from its chemical composition of iron and magnesium. The gem often occurs in volcanic rocks called basalts, which are rich in these two elements.

Peridot is found in lava, and meteorites and is credited as the first gem discovered on another planet, peridot was first seen by the Mars Global Surveyor: MGS or “Migs” according to me. Good old Migs reported the discovery after arriving to Mars in 1997.

The ancient Egyptians mined peridot on the Red Sea island of Zabargad, the source for many large fine peridots in the world’s museums. The Egyptians called it the “gem of the sun.”

Peridot is found in China, Myanmar, Pakistan, Tanzania, Vietnam, Egypt, and the United States.
